Self Worth

Image
You and only you have the wisdom of what you are and what you can achieve. Don't be misguided by the conceptions of others. You have the key to your life/ success/ joys and everything you seek. No one has the power to demean you unless and until you give them the power.  KNOW YOUR SELF WORTH, UNLEASH YOUR POTENTIAL AND YOU WILL FIND YOURSELF EXCELLING IN EVERYTHING. SHUN OFF THE NEGATIVITY THAT FEELS YOU SOMETIMES, GET AWAY FROM NEGATIVE PEOPLE AND YOU WILL BE A WINNER IN LIFE.

Transactional Analysis

Image
In the early 20th century, Sigmund Freud first established that the human psyche is multifaceted, and that each one of us has warring functions in our subconscious. In the 1950s Eric Berne developed his theory of Transactional Analysis. According to him, verbal communication, particularly face to face, is at the centre of human social relationships and psychoanalysis.         "You do something to me I do something back" was the starting point of every transaction we have.           When  2 persons meet each other, one of them will speak to the other. This is the Transaction Stimulus. The other person replies to this is the Transaction Response .          According to the Transactional Analysis concept each one of us is 3 persons in one body. Eric Berne called it the PAC Model, where P stands for Parent, A for Adult and C for Child.            Every human behaves in these 3 different mode. Our brain determines what we think and how we act. It acts as a tap

"Aim High" - Sky is the Limit.

Every once in a while, we wear a mask to hide our emotions, our faces, our deficiencies. Whilst it may be necessary  to do so under certain circumstances, we tend to overuse our masks. What's really beneath the mask is more important, more vital and more ethical. For me teaching/training is a very noble profession. As teachers/trainers we are meant to be sincere, compassionate and benevolent. Our worth is more than we realize. The community we have touched may forget the name, but will not forget our face. Let our faces reflect what we are and let us improve this picture by being what we are meant to be - more caring, more involved & more committed. Enjoy your profession. There are no limitations in sharing knowledge with your students/trainees. Be flexible, empathetic and loving towards them. The more you share the more you learn - that's what I believe in. I have never resisted from sharing knowledge while I am with my students/ trainees. I feel

Strength of a Woman

Image
As a woman of this era I firmly believe that every woman today needs to enlighten her life by education and by being self independent. Self independence will give her the guts to stand on her feet by being financially independent and the courage to face every hurdle that comes her way. Today I see many women who are striving hard to be secure in their lives - either financially, physically or emotionally. The woman today stands unique compared to the woman of the past. Gone are the days when the women used be bound in shackles of family, society & traditions. By this I don't mean that today the woman is not bounded by her family or her traditions; but she has learnt to make herself a priority and has begun living life on her terms where she seeks fulfillment of her existence, her desires, her ambitions and every small thing that she wants. She manages and handles her family with care & dedication and at the same time seeks her own individual freedom. These are all the

The Big List

The Big List "Soft skills" is an unfortunate term. It sounds weak or dull. The fact is that soft skills are the most important skills for your career. They are the skills that are difficult to systemize and automate. They are the skills that define leadership and creativity. By definition, soft skills are those skills that are difficult to measure. In other words, hard skills can easily be measured by a test but soft skills can't. It's easy to determine who has the best math skills. It's difficult to determine who's best at innovation or diplomacy. The following list of soft skills may be useful for your resume, job descriptions or training plan. Communication Skills 1. Verbal Communication 2. Body Language 3. Physical Communication 4. Writing 5. Storytelling 6. Visual Communication 7. Humor 8. Quick-wittedness 9. Listening 10. Presentation Skills 11. Public Speaking 12. Interviewing Leadership 13. Team Building 14. Stra

Maya Angelou's Poem "Phenomenal Woman"

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies. I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size But when I start to tell them, They think I'm telling lies. I say, It's in the reach of my arms The span of my hips, The stride of my step, The curl of my lips. I'm a woman Phenomenally. Phenomenal woman, That's me. I walk into a room Just as cool as you please, And to a man, The fellows stand or Fall down on their knees. Then they swarm around me, A hive of honey bees. I say, It's the fire in my eyes, And the flash of my teeth, The swing in my waist, And the joy in my feet. I'm a woman Phenomenally. Phenomenal woman, That's me. Men themselves have wondered What they see in me. They try so much But they can't touch My inner mystery. When I try to show them They say they still can't see. I say, It's in the arch of my back, The sun of my smile, The ride of my breasts, The grace of my style. I'm a w

Silence - Boon/Curse

Image
It is said that "Silence is Golden", but many a times we face such situations when we are shattered and slammed by silence. Due to this many of us are afraid of silence. Silence is irritating at the same time sometimes silence speaks volumes. In some relations silence could be the reason for the balance whereas in some silence causes imbalance. When in silence people think & delve deep into their inner self and understand themselves. I love my periods of silence when I am one with myself - trying to focus on me, my thoughts, my dreams, every cell of my body speaks to me. I can concentrate better after these moments of silence and understand myself better. Silence is soothing and healing to me. There are evenings when I slip into a silent mode and am in union with myself and my books. These moments rejuvenate me and give me ways through which I can focus better and plan for the tasks on hand. Silence between the best of friends - speaks of their understanding for each ot
